A dressing changed at home is changed in a controlled environment, by someone who saw the wound last week and can tell you whether it is better. Recovery is also the worst time to be travelling — and a waiting room is the last place a fresh surgical wound belongs.

Injections and IV administration are given against a valid prescription for the medication or infusion concerned. Nursing visits follow a physician's direction, and recurring care is scheduled rather than booked visit by visit — tell us what the care needs and the team will set it up.

What can a nurse do at home?
A DHA-licensed nurse provides wound care, injections, IV administration, post-operative support and the daily clinical tasks that are easier done well at home. Every visit follows a physician's direction.
Can I book a nurse without seeing a doctor first?
Nursing care at home follows a physician's direction. If you have not been seen yet, our team will arrange the assessment that determines what nursing care is appropriate.
Do you provide post-operative care at home?
Yes. Post-operative support at home is one of the most common reasons to book a nurse — recovery is easier in your own bed than in a clinic waiting room.
Can a nurse administer an IV drip I already have?
Yes. If the infusion or IV medication has already been prescribed for you, a DHA-licensed nurse assesses you, prepares sterile equipment, cannulates and monitors you throughout — booked as a 30-minute or 60-minute visit depending on the infusion. Have the prescription for what is being given ready for the nurse.
